Photograph from Swedish polar explorer S. A. Andrée's disastrous balloon expedition of 1897. The photo, taken from the steamer Virgo, shows the balloon the Eagle moving north after leaving the launch site Danskøya. The image has been downloaded from http://www.zwoje-scrolls.com/zwoje41/text08p.htm and then cropped.
