             English: Photograph of the Hindu goddess  Ganga, the deified  Ganges River, in terracotta from  Ahichchhatra,  U.P., India,  Gupta, 5th century CE. Following iconographic prescription, Ganga stands on her mount, the  Makara, a mythological crocodile-like aquatic monster and holds a full pot of water in her hand, while an attendant holds a parasol over her. The dimensions of the art-work are: height: 171 cm (67 in), width: 74 cm (29 in), depth: 40 cm (16 in).
