Picture entitled, "Slaughter Ghat, Cawnpore" taken in 1858 by Major Robert Christopher Tytler and his wife, Harriet. The picture is of the Sati Chaura Ghat, on the banks of the Ganges River, where, on 27th June 1857, many British men lost their lives and all the surviving women and children were taken prisoners by the rebels and subsequently killed.
