Description |
English: Archaeopteryx lithographica, fragmentary fossil. As these fossil bones represent one wing of Archaeopteryx, this specimen is known as "chicken wing". Imprints of the feathers are faintly visible below the fingers, which have claws. This image was taken at the Munich Mineral Show 2009. (It shows the original fossil - not a cast.)
Deutsch: Archaeopteryx lithographica, fossiles Fragment. Da die fossilen Knochen einen Flügel von Archaeopteryx darstellen, wurde dieses Exemplar als "chicken wing" ("Hühnerflügel") bekannt. Schwache Abdrücke der Federn sind unterhalb der mit Krallen besetzten Finger erkennbar. Dieses Bild wurde bei den Münchner Mineralientagen 2009 aufgenommen. (Es zeigt das Original-Fossil, keinen Abguss.)
