I had the opportunity to meet Joe Barbera at a Tom and Jerry book signing in 1993. He was very outgoing and friendly and wanted to hear all about me and my love of H-B cartoons. He even gave me his card and told me to call his secretary and we would get together. I made the call when I returned home and made the appointment. Unfortunately I had to cancel the appointment because of a work commitment, but I did reschedule. Later, Joe's secretary called me to cancel for him because he was set to film a cameo in The Flintstones live action film that day. I never called back and rescheduled again because of the busyness of life and to this day I kick myself.
